Product pages
The product page is where a shopper decides to buy. Backline gives each product a clean, flexible layout: a media gallery, clear pricing and options, and room for the details that answer questions before they turn into doubts.
Add great product media
Section titled “Add great product media”Media is the heart of a product page. In Shopify, a product can hold images, video, and 3D models, and the theme shows them together in the gallery.
- Images do the everyday work. Upload sharp photos, around 2048 x 2048 px for square shots. PNG and JPEG are the safest formats.
- Video lets a shopper see a product in use. You can upload a file or paste a YouTube or Vimeo link.
- 3D models let a shopper spin a product and judge its size and finish, which builds confidence for higher-value items.
Set up options and variants
Section titled “Set up options and variants”If a product comes in sizes, colors, or materials, add those as variants in Shopify. The theme turns them into pickers on the product page, so a shopper chooses the exact version they want before adding to cart.
Each variant can carry one assigned image. For extra angles of a specific color or style, add all the related photos to the product’s media gallery and arrange them so they sit together. The gallery then follows the shopper’s choice.
Write details that sell
Section titled “Write details that sell”- Lead with the benefit, then the specifics. Shoppers skim, so put the most useful line first.
- Use short paragraphs, and a few bullet points for specs like materials, dimensions, and care.
- Answer the question you get asked most. Every answer on the page is one less email in your inbox.
Add specs, apps, and pickup
Section titled “Add specs, apps, and pickup”Underneath the buy button there is room for the practical information that settles a decision.
- Spec rows are driven by your product metafields. Fill in a field like fabric weight or warranty length on a product and it appears as a labeled row. Products without the field skip it, so your pages stay clean.
- App blocks let you drop an app’s content, a review widget or a size chart for example, straight into the page in Online Store → Themes → Customize. Drag it above or below the buy button and check the result before you save.
- Pickup availability tells a shopper whether an item is ready at a nearby location, variant by variant. Set your locations and local pickup up in Shopify admin first: the Shopify Help Center walks you through it.
Keep shoppers moving
Section titled “Keep shoppers moving”A shopper who is not sold on this product may be sold on the next one. The theme gives you several ways to keep them browsing.
- Product recommendations show related items chosen from your catalog, which is the easiest way to lift the average order.
- Recently viewed products bring back what a shopper already looked at, so comparing two options takes one click rather than a trip back through the menu.
- The next product link moves a shopper straight to the following item, which suits catalogs people like to flip through.
- Quick view opens a product’s key details in place, so shoppers can check size and price without losing their spot.
Style the cards inside these rails under Product cards, and find the matching sections in the products sections reference.
Make the next step obvious
Section titled “Make the next step obvious”The theme keeps the price, the options, and the add to cart button easy to find as a shopper reads. Keep your button text simple, match the styling to the rest of your store in Buttons, and let the layout do the work. A calm, uncluttered product page reads as a trustworthy one.
